It Comes Back To Character

You already know how I feel about my Bad Boyfriend's character and Obama's lack therof.

Yesterday the NYT just highlighted the difference once again.

I was reading over at the Phibian's place and he had a little highlight video from Saturday night. Clearly McCain does very well. But don't worry Obama lovers - the NYT has got your back!

As I commented over at Salamander's place

This was huge for McCain. He did well and it's a demographic he needs. But don't worry, Obama's people and the MSM (but I repeat myself) are already picking away at the victory. They are saying that McCain cheated. They can't prove it, but that doesn't stop the accusations. NYT reports that McCain was in his motorcade while Obama was being questioned.

The Obama camp's assertion seems to be that he was listening to it on the radio or Internet.

Of course when they speak, I hear something else. I hear the Obama people saying "I would have cheated given the opportunity....so you must have as well."

MSM liberal media? Surely, you jest, Maggie. This is my connundrum: why do BOTH progressives and conservatives think MSM is slanted in the opposite direction of what they think? Some media is conservative, some progressive. I listen to both.

Politics is often about empty accusations. Many in the Obama camp acknowledge McCain did a great job, but don't have to agree with his political position. I am unsure but understand he and his daughter are strong animal rights supporters. That's a major plus in my book.

I vehemently disagree with most of his policies. But you knew that already, didn't you, Maggie?

:L)

Power corrupts, no matter what side of the fense you're on. Character is not leaving your disfigured wife for a barbie doll. England's Daily Mail reports:

When he came home and saw that Carol was not the beauty he left behind, he started running around on her almost right away. Everybody around him knew it.

Eventually he met Cindy and she was young and beautiful and very wealthy. At that point McCain just dumped Carol for something he thought was better.

This is a guy who makes such a big deal about his character. He has no character. He is a fake. If there was any character in that first marriage, it all belonged to Carol.

I'll give McCain credit that he never hid his actions as did Edwards and Clinton, and ran for office with everyone knowing he cheated on his wife. I'm reminded of Newt Gingrich, who served his wife with divorce papers in the hospital while she recovered from cancer.

Is it my business? No. I don't think anyone's private affairs has to do with running the country, but private family business. I speak on behalf of both conservatives and progressives.

Best wishes from your token liberal.

Some media is conservative, but the big three networks, two of the three cable news networks and most major newspapers are liberal.

I think they are slanted because of things like the article I cited. NYT let themselves be used by the Obama people to accuse McCain of cheating. No reporting going on there. Just an accusation. No proof. Just like the crap about McCain and lobbyist.

As far as McCain's infidelities go, he answered that in the Saddleback thing....he considers it his biggest moral failing. He made a mistake, he admits it was wrong and learned the lesson from it. That is character.

The article you reference is conjecture. McCain's infidelities were bad and wrong, etc. But they had no impact on me. Edwards had an impact on the outcome of the Democratic primary. McCain didn't lie under oath about his infidelities, like Clinton. What matters to me is that Carol McCain doesn't say anything bad about him. She is the person to judge.

With Newt Gingrich, no one is more peeved with him than yours truly. I think that was just STUPID!!!! He is a brilliant conservative mind and he torpedoed himself. When I think about it, I want to kick him.

I still believe McCain's character is superior to Obama's. He isn't perfect. No one is.

*I* vehemently disagree with some of McCain's policies....lol, bet *you* didn't know that!

Oh, Maggie, dear: I credited McCain for exactly the same reason you did. He was honest about his affair. The way you feel about Newt is the way I feel about Bill Clinton. Had he just gotten on the podium and said, "I cheated on my wife, I made a mistake, I'm sorry. Questions?" I think King George would have lost the election. Clinton did, in fact, lie under oath. Gingrich may be intelligent, but he obviously had no common sense.

I'm making neither excuses for either of them nor will I blame them for their affairs. It's none of our business. I do blame Clinton and Edwards for lying. And you're absolutely right: Edwards had a terrible impact on this election (at least from my point of view). I'm not going to get into women's issues here.

You busted me on The Daily Mail quote. Can't put anything by you :L) I rechecked my source and discovered it's an Enquirer-type rag. Sorry, Maggie. in my haste to compare Edwards and McCain, I goofed by selecting a poor source.

As concerns network liberality, I know you're not talking about Faux Noise as liberal... NBC, despite their ownership by GE, tend to present both sides of the issues. ABC is junk news, and CNN ranks as moderately conservative to me. That gives us a wide range of choices. C-SPAN always feels like the most even-handed of all stations. Some of those Congressional hearings can be fascinating.

Now wait, did you really say that there are issues on which you disagree with McCain? Good thing I'm sitting down. Can we compare notes? You just made my day. LMAO—I'm typing this with a smile.

Thanks, Maggie. I hope you are having a great day.

I never counted CSpan into my biased count. I adore CSpan. Everyone has a voice even the crazies. I love watching the pained, polite look on the moderators faces when members of the tinfoil brigade call in.

I disagree with McCain's policies on dealing with illegal immigration, but I think he has learned to focus on securing the border. I also disagree with provisions of the campaign reform bill. The system was broke, but McCain Fiengold didn't fix it.

I have more of a problem with Clinton than the perjury thing simply because I do believe that he used his power in office to intimidate women for the purposes of getting them in bed.

Of course I am not upset with Hillary Clinton not getting the nod. However, I can see the unfairness of it.
