"We Are Tied To The Ocean"

That's what JFK said in Newport in 1962.  I find it very true as I sit here, next to my open window, the sea roaring beneath.

All of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea -- whether it is to sail or to watch it -- we are going back from whence we came.

John F Kennedy's speech in Newport the America's Cup Races, September 1962

I woke up at no particular time.  That is my favorite time to wake up, lol.  Mass was less crowded and boisterous.  I had a yummy broccoli, cheese, bacon omelet at the Saltwater Diner that I couldn't finish - should have brought backup.  I have a delicious half moon from Weinberg's Bakery and white milk for MIDRATs, new today on blog talk radio.

And for now, I am reading a guilty pleasure, "The Pulse of Allah" by James Knight.  I am a sucker for the post-apocalypse, EMP, end of the WAWKI books.  But tomorrow I will get to Heinlein, since I started a storm on FaceBook about it.

The Kennedys were so tied to the ocean that Teddy put an Oldsmobile in it in 1969.
