Often times we wait too long to honor people. This time however, the Navy was in time and on target.
Last October I was invited up to Maine for the christening of DDG-108 & missed it. But you know who didn't miss it? Rear Admiral Wayne E. Meyer.

RADM Meyer provided LEADERSHIP.
It is a quality missing from many in senior positions. There is a reason he never picked up much deserved third star: he put the fleet in front of politics.
