I Really Miss Driving

There is an undeniable freedom in getting into the driver's seat of a car with the keys in your hand. Most stuff I need to do, I can walk or I call my sisters. But sometimes I think they will think it's a pain or ridiculous. You know....a "la, la, la".

My Marine is marching a parade tomorrow. Jen and I are supposed to go to Grace's cottage. This parade is 60 some odd miles further north and west.

In my previous life, I would have just gone. Now I have to consider how much I want to impose.

Maggie - I feel your pain....here on base, we don't have vehicles to drive....we can "arrange" a ride if needed but it has been over two months since I was able to drive MYSELF anywhere....I've had a license and my own wheels sine I was 17...R&R is in Sept. and I plan to drive the wheels off my 1963 Willys Jeep....

Enjoy the day if you can with the Marine. Best Wishes.

Did you ever stop and think that maybe they don't think of as an imposition?

Though I do know how it feels...when you're used to doing everything for yourself, having to ask for help is especially galling. Which is why my lawn mower sits outside without a belt to make the blades turn.

Keep your chin up, Ms Maggie! And enjoy the parade.

Love and hugs...
