I Believe....

.....that if John McCain had been elected instead of Barack Obama #Benghazi would not be on everyone's lips.

I believe that you wouldn't know the names Christopher Stevens and Sean Smith unless you were a policy wonk or political geek like me.

I believe that you wouldn't know that names Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods because they would be quietly working their mission for the CIA.

Because if John McCain were president, those men would be alive.

Now many will say "That's ridiculous Maggie!  You can't know."

But I do.  And if you are honest, you do too.

That's what really riles me.  It didn't have to happen.

Maybe. Who knows? Here's what I do know:

Ryan, Issa and other House Republicans voted for an amendment in 2009 to cut $1.2 billion from State operations, including funds for 300 more diplomatic security positions. Under Ryan’s budget, non-defense discretionary spending, which includes State Department funding, would be slashed nearly 20 percent in 2014, which would translate to more than $400 million in additional cuts to embassy security.

Elections have consequences. Putting a socialist-communist in the WH who has a resentment of America and a disdain for her military and her fighting men yields this result, and worse, if there is a second term. His "flexibility" that he discussed with Medvedev will consist of pandering to Russia, and to our enemies in the Middle East, to the detriment of our security, economic prosperity, and prestige worldwide. Amateur hour in the WH and at Foggy Bottom.

"Elections have consequences." A favorite quote of mine.

When Sen. Inohofe kept interrupting Al Gore's comments on climate change (forget whether you like Gore: not the point), Babara Boxer asked him: “Would you agree to let the Vice President answer your questions?”

Inhofe said Gore could respond when he was done talking.

Boxer told him: “No, that isn’t the rule. You’re not making the rules. You used to when you did this. Elections have consequences."

I don't see Socialism and Communism as the same. Communism is a totalitarian regime; Socialism is not.

Forget that distinction The hard left feels Obama isn't Socialist enough.

Me? I just want some peace from now until the election is over.

And some M&Ms for Boston Maggie.

So Stella, you are going to tell me that the $8.3 BILLION in 2013 OCO dollars could only yield a $300,000 security contract for a consulate in a place where there had been civil war? My guess is that somewhere in the almost $10 BILLION for work on "food security and climate change" there was enough to provide proper security if State had cared to.

Blaming Ryan and Issa, and House Republicans for the abject and criminal failures of this Administration in Libya is the height of naive stupidity. What you do know is very little, and that only out of the mouths of MSNBC and MoveOn.org. Which is less than nothing.

Peace until the election is over? I would trade that for securing the blessings of Liberty, for ourselves and our posterity. Which has been increasingly in doubt since 2008.
