I talk about my prognosis very matter of factly. But people who know me, know what I really want....
Sure it's my preference to be realistic and take what the doctors say literally. That way, when they are wrong, it's a pleasant surprise. But I don't mind at all when people contradict me.
And Lynne knows!
I made a comment that ended with "....when I'm gone....".
She waved her hand at me and said she wasn't listening.
"You're not going anywhere."
Thanks Lynne!
Well, I find the way you talk about it to be very, very refreshing. It's a reminder to all of us to enjoy what we have and where we are.
ReplyDeleteYup, your friend Lynne rocks.
Haven't spoken with you in quite awhile Maggie, we'd had a bit of an online dustup a few years ago and it turned out I was wrong? And you'd decided I wasn't as much of a jerk as I'd seemed to be? Stella's friend?
ReplyDeleteWell I was in the neighborhood and wanted to say hello, and say I wish you well, and may God look out for you Maggie.
I hope you have a relaxing weekend, and think you are one helluva lady.
If I hear ya talking like that, you know what I'm gonna do, so Don't.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Kanani! That's just how I feel.
ReplyDeleteOso - I remember just who you are and that minor disagreement is far behind us. Thank you for your kind words.
T - In the words of Beavis "Are you threatening me!"
"when I'm gone"
ReplyDeleteWait ... What. Your going somewhere?
If your family wakes you in the traditional way, standing up in a corner for three days, I'll come by and have a drink of Jamesons.
ReplyDeleteBut, I fully expect that you'll outlive us all.
