I poached this from Chelle's FB wall. "If there is someone behind you and no one in front of you, then get out of this lane" This is one of my biggest driving pet peeves. I rant about it so much to the boys. When Frankie and Danny were going to driver's ed, Bill and I went to pick them up. I said "If there's one thing I want to tell you about driving...." - they cut me off with a chorus of "If you are not the fastest moving car on the road, move over!"
I used to make me crazy when I would drive with someone who wouldn't move from the left hand lane and comment "I'm already doing 5/10/15 miles over the speed limit."
Who are you to decide how fast traffic should move! Argghhh! Unless you have a gun and a badge, talk to my rear bumper!
Every time I think we have more in common than I thought, we have more in common than I thought...
ReplyDeleteIf tailed, I usually move over. Who needs to get to a read light that fast? I'd rather leave early and take the bus.
If I'm really being tailed I flip my... headlights... on and off. The person behind me thinks I'm breaking, right? But, I'm not. They back off or pass me. I don't care which.
I reserve this passive-aggressive form of road rage rarely; for example, when a hummer, beamer, or some other people driving a faux status symbol are on my tail.
True story: I once got a ticket for going too slow on the freeway... and I was in the slow lane...
Of course, sometimes, one must rush. One example is when trying to catch a 316 bus while playing tour guide to exalted, but confused, Bostonian luminaries following my dust, and wondering why they are running and whether they should speed up also...
BostonMaggie, I am not sure who "Chelle" is that you said you "borrowed", ahem, her picture from. Do you know or can you ask her and let me know where this picture was taken at or if it was photoshopped? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteTotally photoshopped from this picture.
