You know I am torturing myself over what I'm missing at EPIIC.
Wednesday night was "Global Cities/Global Slums: An Evening with Saskia Sassen"
Thursday night was "Financial Crisis: A New Era of Economic Leadership"
Today is four different panels starting at noon.
Someday I am going to win the lottery and after I pay all my debts, fork over to my family, St Francis, Soldier's Angels and some other charities.......I am going to use the rest to just travel around to different lectures and forums and author appearances, etc.
Greetings ....
ReplyDeleteI randomly cruise the blogs a few times every week, and drifted onto your page. I was checking under the category of people interested in "history," but it was the photo that got my attention. When you live in the boonies, there is no need to go to a range. I'm pretty much a 1911 guy, myself.
If the mood strikes you, look at my page for a few words about guns -- Wednesday, Thursday, something like that.
Take care ....
I should have gone to the discussion about the financial crisis, I opened up a Scott Trade account yesterday and plan to have fun with some stock market stuff. Not going hog wild with it but should be fun.
ReplyDeleteTom - Everyone I know who has stock in anything is crying...but you think it sounds like fun? Hmmmm.....
ReplyDeleteI sold off all my mutual funds and stocks over a year ago and was lucky to do so. I think now the market is getting close to the bottom and am positioning myself to be able to dabble. Not that I have purchased anything yet, I think you will see the bulls start to run this coming week (provided the Obama administration comes out with any sliver of positive information the markets want to hear).
ReplyDeleteWell I hope you make a killing....then if I make it to the Milblog, you can foot my bar bill.
ReplyDeleteI want to go to the Milblog but we already had reservations at Shades of Green for the same week.
ReplyDeleteI know what I can do! My oldest Son is in DC doing an internship with the US Attorney's office - I make him go over and buy you a couple of "by proxy" drinks. Problem solved!
Of course! Send you son, we will take good care of him.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I wonder how he will feel about hanging with his father's crazy friends, lol.
My son came over from the western part of Virginia the last time we were in DC and he had a great time. Some of us are quite entertaining. Tom & concreteBob got along like a house afire.
My oldest son, Tommy, would be the one coming - he already served 6 years in the Navy as a Nuke, he is well traveled. Growing up in a Navy family and living in numerous locations, he has always acclimated well to crazy :)
