Biden Angered By Tough Questions
Biden Angered By Tough Questions
The Obama campaign whined about WFTV being "unprofessional" when it dared to dish out some tough questions to Vice President hopeful, Joe Biden.
The Obama spokesperson issued this statement about the interview:"There's nothing wrong with tough questions, but reporters have the very important job of sharing the truth with the public -- not misleading the American people with false information. Senator Biden handled the interview well; however, the anchor was completely unprofessional. Senator Biden's wife is not running for elected office, and there are many other stations in the Orlando television market that would gladly conduct a respectful and factual interview with her."
"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election."

My sides hurt from laughing! Are you effin' kididng me???? Did anyone watch Brokaw grilling McCain yesterday on Meet The Press? Man! I thought Brokaw came off like a total Obama operative.
Biden thought that was tough?
What
A
Wimp
Brokaw as debate "moderator" was a joke. It's funny you write this because some liberals thought Brokaw was a McCain supporter. I think he's neither : Brokaw was a dreadful moderator.
ReplyDeleteQuestion on Obama turning America into a Marxist Government? Biden was great: he just laughed. That one was over the top.
Question on Socialist like Sweden? I agree with Biden that the only people concerned about Socialism are the far right. What is this overweaning fear of Obama = Socialism, Maggie? I think this comes from people who don't travel or study other forms of government. I can tell you first-hand: Sweden's a great place to live.
Overall, I felt Barbara West was professional—especially for a Faux reporter. I think the questions were tough. And, ultimately, I think we all want the same thing:
And I ain't no communist
And I ain't no capitalist
And I ain't no socialist
And I ain't no imperialist
And I ain't no democrat
And I ain't no republican
I only know one party
And it is freedom
I am, I am, I am
I am a patriot
And I love my country
Because my county is all I know
"I am a Patriot"
Jackson Browne.
Sweden may be a great place to live......for the Swedish. Here in America, the majority of Americans prefer a freer society. I know I do.
ReplyDeleteI am *right*, but not *far right*. LOL, ask my Dad. I am a disappointment, ask my Dad.
I think most voters do not grasp what Obama wants to do. I don't believe most Americans understand the profound changes Obama wants to bring about in America.
If they did, I beleive they would be just as worried as I am.
Maggie, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark are outstandingly free, progressive countries. The citizens enjoy great liberty. Sweden is not a Socialist country, but a constitutional monarchy like Great Britain, Norway, and Denmark. Women have more positions of power in Swedish government than the United States. The Scandinavian countries' government are almost identical to Democracy.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a lot of criticism of Socialist government from the Right. Obama doesn't support Socialism, and he's right. The problem with Socialism is that it works well in small countries, but not in a nation the size of the United States.
I believe we need profound change and have to consider, if he wins, who Obama will pick for his cabinet. I wouldn't be surprised to see Colin Powell in the cabinet. But don't expect me to count a winner until November 5th.
I'm far more frightened of McCain and Palin. McCain is way out of touch with the American people, even though I admire him teaming up with Russ Feingold in 2006. He is not wholly bad politically, but there are enough issues with him on which I vehemently disagree to know he is not a candidate I can support.
I will withhold any comment about Palin out of respect to you, save that of someone who shoots innocent animals out of helicopters. Nor is Cheney's passion for caged hunting. Maggie, I can neither sanction nor condone such wanton cruelty towards animals.
My opinion of you? You're a highly intelligent individual.
LOL. Palin never shot an animal from a helicopter. That's one of those crazy rumors that the press keeps repeating.
ReplyDeleteShe and other official in Alaska promote this -
Alaskan officials call it "predator control," not aerial hunting, and use it to keep the populations of moose and caribou high for subsistence hunters.
I got it at factcheck

You can talk Sweden up all you want. It doesn't matter, it's not the point to argue Swedens merits. America is America and most of us want it to remain America.
ReplyDeleteIf you were to ask Americans - do you want to be more like Sweden? - they would say no.
My point about Sweden is just that. It's fine for Sweden. I'm an American.
i don't want "profound" change. I want someone to enforce existing laws. I don't want someone who thinks that the founding fathers constrained us in the Constiution. I don't want someone who doesn't like capitalism. I don't want someone who thinks I am basically good, but I listen to the wrong people. I don't want someone who thinks I am bitter and cling to my religion. I don't want someone who doesn't believe in America. I don't want someone who thinks America is the problem.
But most of all I don't want someone who is going to cut the military and expose me and mine to danger.
Stella,
ReplyDeleteYou and "Clueless Joe" are mistaken. The far right are not the only ones concerned about socialism. Basically any of us with an understanding of socialism are concerned about our country's slow drift toward the economic failure known as socialism.
Brokaw was a joke not because he leaned one way or another. He was a joke because he made the debate more about himself with the incessant references to time. In that regards, both candidates lost in that they failed to finish their answer in the time allotted.
You say you are scared of McCain? Why? McCain will be checked by a Dem majority in the House and Senate. Obama/Biden should scare folks much more because his extremism will be unchecked by the the far left House and Senate of San Fran Nan and Dingy Harry.
Aw, Large Bill, Joe's far from clueless. If you consider socialism economic failure, perhaps you can explain to me why 98.7% of Norway's energy comes from hydroelectric power and oil is shipped off shore.
ReplyDeleteThe term "Socialism" is just a scare tactic being confused with "Constitutional Monarchy." If you want to discuss economic failure, we could have a long conversation about George Bush, NAFTA (yes, I KNOW Clinton signed the bill), tax credits for companies who hire employees off-shore, the sky rocketing unemployment, and the financial crash due to deregulation. If that isn't economic failure, I don't know what is.
You are on-point about Brokaw. He was highly concerned with his own role in the debate. He never had one. Absolutely he took time away from the debate. The rules changed: he needed to adjust. That was my point on "Brokaw was a Dreadful Moderator."
I'm scared of McCain because he would choose two Supreme Court Justices who would not be pro-choice. I don't believe he will be check by a Congressional majory—Bush wasn't when he vetoed the CIA, Farm Bill, Children's Health, and Stem Cell Research Bill. With the plethora of executive orders signed in secret by Bush, I would trust Obama far more than McCain.
Further, I don't like the idea of the Killa from Wassilla being a heartbeat away from the presidency. Her views on pro-choice are extreme. So I'm not sure I can agree with you when you discuss that McCain's and Palin's power will be checked.
If the House were as far left as you claim San Fran Nan and Dingy Harry (LOL!) would have started impeachment proceedings as soon as they took office. They didn't. But, just for the record, we're in agreement on this one. I'm not a big fan of Pelosi or Reid. All liberals do not share the same view about them.
Largebill, I'm here because I don't want to look at issues in a one-sided manner. We will never convince each other about our choice in candidates, but it's fun to discuss, don't you think?
