That is a picture of the USS Bunker Hill is nearly being hit by a Japanese bomb on 19 June 1944.
My grandfather was in that battle aboard Admiral Marc Mitscher's flagship, the carrier Lexington. Mitscher was the commander of the Fast Carrier Task Force, Task Force 58.
A person from Charlestown, one of Boston's neighborhoods.....it's better than being from Southie and Charlestown is where the Battle of Bunker Hill was fought....on Breed's Hill.
