Do no Irishmen live in Grand Rapids? No Scotsmen either?
I am watching the ceremony for President Ford at the Ford Presidential Library. As the casket is moved from the hearse to the building a person is attempting to play Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. It is GOD AWFUL. He should stop! He keeps trying and he should stop! Right now. He is butchering it.
Obviously no one gave him enough F$#@!^G Jameson!
ReplyDeleteAh, Boston Maggie. Justb ran into your site via a comment at Ace's. I'll be checking your site out regularly now.
ReplyDeleteAt least until, like Ace, I find someplace else to move to.
Unfortunately, the persnickity nature of the Pipes can set up even the most masterful of Pipers for public disgrace...
ReplyDeleteChances are, he tuned up in a secluded place (probably inside) and then the Pipes cooled, the breath moisture condensed, and when he took them outside, the resulting water froze (it being wintertime in Michigan and all), causing all of his reeds to go into collective apoplexy... (Betcha they didn't ask some newbie fresh to Piping to perform, which means that this fellow was an old-timer, who doesn't believe in using the synthetic reeds - like I have- that aren't as sensitive to such conditions...)
I'll bet he winced everytime he hit a sour one, and is trying very hard to make sure that nobody knows hs name...
(Oh, and sorry about that call-back... Got caught up in something... Not too much blood, fortunately...)
Anthony - Exactly!
ReplyDeleteRocketeer - Welcome! Are you saying I will cease to be interesting once you leave Boston?
Godzilla - I didn't realize that pipes were persnickity. I apologize. On the other matter....Do you need help disposing of the body?
Nope... *uuurrrrruuppp!*...
ReplyDeleteI'm good...
Maggie - not at all! It's just that I have a serous love-hate relationship with the state. And after MA and I break up (and I know someday we will), I'm not sure I'll be strong enough to even think about my foresaken Bay State, what she once was, and what she's become...
ReplyDeleteRocketeer - Very smooth.
